Holiday Tree Guidelines

  • All trees must be set-up and completed on Thursday, November 19th & Friday, November 20th, 2009.  
  • The theme of your must be appropriate for a family event.   All themes must be pre-approved before the event. 
  • Trees must be made of artificial material.
  • Trees must be decorated to be viewed on all sides.
  • Any edible ornaments must be wrapped.
  • All dried materials must be sprayed with a fire retardant.
  • Do not attach original gift certificates and/or tickets to the tree.  Only copies are to be placed on the tree. The originals must be given to the Event Coordinator for safe keeping until the end of the festival.

Tree Donors Provide:

  • An artificial tree.
  • All decorations.
  • Lights if desired. Must be new UL-approved.  Plan for light bulb breakage by placing extra fuses and bulbs in a plastic bag and tape to tree base.  *Test lights before decorating!
  • A tree skirt and tree stand - mandatory 
  • A tree topper if desired.
  • Extension cords/power strips which must be new and heavy duty with either UL or FM approved labels intact.
  • Equipment needed for set-up & decorating including ladders, tools, glue guns, etc.

 

Prohibited Items

  • Live trees
  • Spray adhesives, spray-on artificial snow, or other excessively flammable materials.
  • Sharp objects such as fishing lures, kitchen items or sewing tools.
